I hope you can find one that you like. Personally, I always put Colleen Hoover on the 1st place when I want to read some romance, that’s why I selected more than one book by her because she’s just good at it. Crazy good.
Have fun reading!
You might have heard of this one and if you didn’t then I don’t know where you’ve been. Caraval, Stephanie Garber.
It was pretty hard to believe that this one’s her debut novel… like… wait WHAAAAT?! You know talent, hard work and lots of creativity when you see it. That’s what made Caraval. Just like The Night Circus the game happens only at night but what happens during the day, you just have to brace yourself.
I was pretty obsessed with it and any minute I had free I had to come to this book. You just can’t be ready for all the twists and turns and it has stuff that you just can’t figure out no matter what. Stephanie knows how to play. Get ready to meet charming characters, well developed that will stick with you for some time.
This is the only book I really wished for to have a happy ending. I couldn’t take any other ending for how rich it is and entertaining, mysterious and catchy.
The idea was unique and awesome. The thing that didn’t let me give it a 5/5 was the clues of the game. They seemed pretty random and I just couldn’t figure out what sense they have, they just seemed illogical. And I don’t think they only seemed illogical. They actually were. “Surprisingly”, she figured them out somehow and I was like …uhm… alright then… as long as it worked.
I’m super curious about what Tella owes Legend. I can’t even think of something because everything that happened was magical and insane. I’m so pumped for the series!
I really recommend it.
Your Favorite Series
Can’t decide between Gone by Michael Grant and Lorien Legacies by Pittacus Lore. They were both awesome and long (like 7 books) and they were both totally worth it.
I can’t even tell you which one of them I got attached to more. Both authors know how to serve you legit fiction.
Please check them out whenever you’re in the mood for a good long series, it’s so worth it!
October’s winner is totally Colleen Hoover’s Slammed. It was everything I wanted in a romance book. The characters are awesome and he reminded me of Jim Halpert from The Office lol.
The story line was catchy and as usual Colleen added original ideas to it and she always knows how to build the conversations and make the reader get attached to the characters no matter how important they are. I literally had a major hangover over it especially after her mom died and I actually felt so sad like I knew her (I know it sounds crazy but when I read, I’m all heart and soul especially if the book is good).
If you’re into this kind of books please start reading it and check out some more of her books like It Ends With Us, Confess or November 9. Let me know what you think of any of them.
Colleen Hoover just became one of my favorite writers after I’ve read It Ends With Us. I think this has been one of the most beautiful books I have ever read with its happy and sad parts you can’t doubt its beauty. You will smile, you will cry, you will rage and you will be happy again.
I didn’t know what book I should choose so I just decided to go with this one because I could’ve bet I can’t go wrong with Colleen Hoover. But I didn’t expect it to be THIS great. I didn’t even want to go to sleep because I just needed more of it. Even though I did, the second I woke up I got back at it because I just kept thinking about it and it was my perfect company.
The characters are mature in their way of dealing with life and that makes the book even better especially when you have some expectations…I mean…Colleen Hoover raised the standard. To me, the characters in this book are unique and I’ve read enough contemporary romance books to make the difference.
You’re gonna see how smart Colleen is when it comes to the subject of abuse, it gave me the impression that it was something different than other books…or maybe the plot is just written on point. Anyways, you won’t be able to ignore your feelings.
I can’t really tell you about the plot because I don’t really know what to say about it but it was an emotional rollercoaster and sometimes I found myself very high and happy and the next few chapters I was instantly sad.
Totally recommend. If you want a good Colleen Hoover start just go on with Confess or this one. If you want to read only one book this year, let it be this one.

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon owns my heart momentarily.
When you start reading it be ready to drown in cuteness. I love Madeline! I love how she deals with her “sickness” and her way of being generally. I love the conversations between Olly and her and I love her courage.
All the adventures they have actually made me want to be there too and do the same things. I think they’re one of my favorite couples in the YA world. They both have to deal with stuff but their personalities make up for any trouble they have.
What do I think of what her mom did?
That was just cruel.
I’m glad they found out she needs some treatment and a psychiatrist because I just couldn’t believe that she is serious tho’ I was glad this book can give you a glimpse of what trauma can actually do to a person. Her intention was pure but it was the wrong way of protecting everything she has left which is Madeline. Yes I was angry at her when I found out what was going on and yes I came to my senses and I began to understand her.
Carla is just awesome. She’s the type of person anyone needs in their life. So trustworthy and kind and serious about everything she does, I just loved her.
The illustrations in it are so adorable sometimes I just wanted to take a picture of them and instagram it or something. They’re the cherry on the cake.
Yes, I pretty much loved every character in this book because they’re just beautifully constructed.
I totally recommend it even if you’re gonna watch the movie or not. You HAVE to read it. Did I mention the cute illustrations in it?
The moment you read the first book in the series you feel like Victoria Aveyard just got you used to awesome writing, crazy plots and unexpected types of characters and shocking events and LIFE LESSON: SHE NEVER DISAPPOINTS! So don’t talk shit about my dear Victoria because she wrote (and still writes, come on baby with the 4th book) one of the best series ever! And I should really consider buying the coloring book.
King’s Cage actually worried me because I haven’t seen any hope for Mare. I could not imagine any means to escape him. He’s a controlled psycho. He doesn’t really want to do all the stuff he does but he can’t help it and he just needs to be saved from himself. I know Cal’s plan is to help his brother and he actually expected Mare to follow but…oh man…I would’ve shocked Cal a little for that (I’m more of an every-man-for-himself kind of person).
Mare is one of the strongest book characters I’ve met. I admire her from every point of view and I don’t know what I would do if I would be in her place. She’s strong, capable, smart, mature and young. Too young to deal with all of this but look at her still kicking ass and that should be empowering for every girl. She does what she has to do and she is doing it well.
If you have read the first 2 books this is your sign to get this book and read it as soon as possible! You can’t possibly live with the action from the second book so I’m telling you you must read this madness.
I kinda wished this one had more of a typical ending (which isn’t something that happens often) but I just love Mare so I thought that she deserves so much better than to be left again tho’ I tried to understand Cal too.
In the end, everybody stands for what they believe.
Since the 1st of October it’s officially Halloween, we all know that. And what could complete this season if not a good horror/creepy book?
I’m gonna share with you some of my favorite books that would fit this month. You still got plenty of time to read at least one of them.
- Psycho by Robert Bloch (it would be enough to read only this one and not the whole trilogy if you don’t want to ruin the experience).
- The Silence Of The Lambs by Thomas Harris
- The Mist by Stephen King (this one’s short and awesome. You can’t go wrong with King).
- Rosemary’s Baby by Ira Levin (this one’s milder, not that scary….but it’s still weird in its own way)
- Asylum by Patrick McGrath (crazy realistic plot for all you maniacs that enjoy psychological books and madness)
I hope you’ll enjoy them!
P.s. some halloween reading recommendations would be appreciated. What’s your favorite one?
